Tamara Guerin Barrau
Tamara Guerin Barrau is a married mother of three children who lives and works in the greater Port-au-Prince area. Tamara has a strong academic background in economics and finance. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida International University and her master’s in financial economics from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
She began her career as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley in Coral Gables where she worked for four years. She then moved to Haiti and worked at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) office in Haiti for a total of four years; first as a consultant in the agriculture and education sectors, and then as a Financial Specialist. Since 2006, she is the Chief Financial Officer of Caribbean Bottling Company, Haiti’s largest water bottler.
Aside from her solid experience in institutional and corporate management, Tamara is an active member of civil society and sits on the board of several organizations promoting youth education and civil society engagement. She is a founding member of Kafou Lespwa, a cross-sector collaborative space working for the transformation of Haitian society. She is also a founding member and the current treasurer of the YWCA Haiti, a grassroots-driven movement rooted in the leadership of women, young women, and girls.
Since 2011, YWCA Haiti is affiliated with the World YWCA, the largest global women’s organization with a +25-million-member network. Tamara enjoys traveling, reading, meditating, and practicing yoga.
