Vélina Élysée Charlier
Vélina Élysée Charlier, a feminist and political activist. She is a member of the organization NouPapDòmi - a Haitian civil society organization that advocates for social justice, anti-corruption, and accountable governance. NouPapDòmi is among the organizations that launched the "Petrocaribe challenge" anti-corruption movement, which rallied hundreds of thousands of Haitians to call for accountability for Haiti's largest corruption scandal.
Vélina is an advocate for human rights, and through her political involvement, she wants to encourage Haitians, especially young people, to engage in politics differently. In 2022, she testified before the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs about the situation in Haiti.
Vélina is the mother of 4 daughters and currently lives in Haiti.
