HAFFD Announces New Executive Director

The Haitian-American Foundation for Democracy (HAFFD) is excited to announce the appointment of  Jocelyn McCalla as its new Executive Director, marking a pivotal moment in the organization’s journey.  McCalla, who previously served as Senior advisor, brings extensive experience in public policy, human rights advocacy, and Haitian affairs, ensuring HAFFD continues to thrive as a champion for democracy and human rights.

Building on the success of Arielle Dominique’s tenure as HAFFD’s inaugural Executive Director, HAFFD has made significant strides in strengthening advocacy, expanding outreach, and fostering sustainable impact.  As Dominique transitions to the Board of Directors, HAFFD is grateful for her visionary leadership in laying the foundation for the organization’s growth and influence.

"His deep expertise in advocacy and public policy will strengthen our ability to promote democracy and human rights. We are grateful to Arielle Dominique for her dedication and contributions, which have laid a strong foundation for the future.  As she transitions to the Board, we look forward to her continued guidance in advancing HAFFD’s mission.”

Mr. McCalla expressed enthusiasm for the role, stating, “HAFFD has achieved tremendous progress in  a short time, and I am honored to continue building on this momentum.  I look forward to working closely with the Board, our partners, and stakeholders to expand our initiatives and strengthen our impact.  Democracy and justice require collective action, and together, we will drive meaningful change.”

Reflecting on the transition, Dominique shared, “Serving as HAFFD’s inaugural Executive Director has been an incredible journey, and I am proud of what we’ve built together.  Establishing this organization and seeing it flourish has been deeply rewarding, and I am excited to continue supporting its mission as a member of the Board.”

With a strong leadership team and dedicated stakeholders, HAFFD remains committed to education, advocacy, and engagement, ensuring the organization remains a sustainable force in promoting democracy and human rights.
